Minor in Film and Media Arts

This minor provides an accessible pathway to basic media literacy for liberal arts students, and provides them the opportunity to focus on developing specific conceptual and/or technical media skills to supplement their major are of study. The curriculum allows students to discover film/video production through either a theoretical or practical approach, then allows them to customize their own combination technical competencies including screenwriting, digital storytelling, cinematography and lighting, audio production, editing and other advanced post-production processes. Finally, the minor course of study culminates in the execution of their own non-narrative production  project, as well as collaborating with F&MA majors on a documentary.
